I will be on the gound, in the community with our deputies. I will be visible and accountable. Working daily handling calls, attending meetings and community events, and in the office handling daily tasks.

Any citizen of Ouachita County is welcome to ask any question at any time. My office will have an open-door policy. I will hold community meetings throughout the year or when a need arises.

Using your tax dollars to get the best and most cost-efficient equipment for our deputies. Experience with the purchase of over 3 million dollars of rolling stock and countless dollars' worth of equipment.

Resourceful

My Plan

  • Deputy pay has increased and is competitive with other agencies in our area, but it needs to be even better. Pay for dispatchers, clerical staff, and jail staff is not where it needs to be. I will work hard on finding ways to work the budget to bring raises to these employees and to get our deputies not just competitive but better wages than other agencies.

  • I will work hard to provide, maintain, and improve equipment. I will provide deputies with safe, reliable, and economical patrol vehicles, the best communication equipment and personal protective equipment on the market for deputies and correction officers. I will use your tax dollars efficiently and accountably to provide the best equipment and supplies to my staff.

  • I will bring the community back in focus. I started my career in Chidester working under a grant afforded by the COPS program, Community Oriented Policing. I want to get the Sheriff’s office back into the community by attending and participating in public events, community safety programs, and neighborhood watch programs, to name a few.

  • I am very fond of the Volunteer Fire Departments; I have volunteered with the Chidester Fire Department for 27 years. The Sheriff's office needs a strong bond with these agencies. We must work, train, and lead together. I will ensure that the volunteer fire departments will have the best working relationship with my office to ensure we achieve the goals that need to be met in public safety.
